We love the Korsteel Stainless Steel Jointed Mouth Eggbutt Pelham Bit because the curb offers more stopping power than just the snaffle on its own.  The Pelham combines the action of the snaffle with the action of a curb in one bit.  Very popular in the Huntfield and on the cross country course.  

• The Pelham bit combines the function of a snaffle and the action of a curb bit
• The top rein provides snaffle pressure to the tongue and corners of the mouth, while the bottom rein increases leverage and curb chain pressure
• Fixed cheeks of the eggbutt prevent pinching at the sides of the mouth and provide a consistent contact
• The single joint applies a nutcracker action which applies pressure to the tongue, the bars of the mouth, and the horse’s palate
